Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - It was a sea of blue corduroy and gold patches at Little America Tuesday, as more than 1200 high school students from around the Cowboy State descended on Cheyenne for this year's State FFA Convention.
The convention is the culminating event for the Wyoming FFA, complete with awards, competitions and leadership development events.
"This is what we prepare for all year long, so all of our teams have been practicing for months now and we get to come and show off everything we've learned," said Burns FFA Member Rachel Derner. "It's also our leadership conference. We have different workshops throughout the day, different public speaking contests, things to kind of help us grow as a person and develop skills that will help us later on in life."
The best in Wyoming get the chance to represent the state at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis in October.
