Cheyenne, WY (KGWN)- Wyoming unemployment raised a tenth of a percentage point in the month of May from 3.7% to 3.8%.
Laramie County increased more than Wyoming did, and went from 3.7% to 4.3%.
Andrea Hixon, the Workforce Center Manager from the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, said this rise in unemployment is normal for this time of the year.
"Those are mainly attributed to some plant closures in Laramie county, along with some others that are downsizing and doing some lay offs," said Hixon.
With students getting out of school and entering the workforce and seasonal construction jobs finishing up, there will be changes in the numbers throughout the season.
