The House Education Committee has endorsed a bill that could threaten Wyoming's participation in the Common Core state standards for Math and English Language Arts.
The panel vote 6-3 Monday to send house bill 97 to the Full House for more debate.
The bill creates an advisory council to review the state's adoption of the
k-12 learning standards.
The council would be made up of parents and educators.
It would provide recommendations on the standards to the State Board of Education, which has already approved the state's participation in common core.
