Wyoming inmate dies

Torrington, WY (KGWN) A 73-year-old inmate died on Thursday.

Joseph J. Vena, an inmate at the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution, died at the Banner Health Community Hospital in Torrington, Wyoming.

Vena was serving two life sentences for Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder and First Degree Murder. He was sentenced in Laramie County District Court in September of 1995.

Vena was born on June 27, 1941, in Illinois.

As per departmental policy an autopsy has been ordered.
