Wyoming woman killed in I-80 crash in Albany County

An Albany County woman was killed in an accident on I-80 Monday.

Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - An Albany County woman was killed in a accident on I-80 Monday.

Debbie K. Murray-Griffith, 56 of Laramie, was killed when her 2001, Buick Lasabre ran into a tractor trailer.

Murray-Griffith was eastbound in the driving lane and Korzun Tadeusz, 56 of Chicago, was eastbound in the passing lane. For reasons unknown at this time, Murray-Griffith attempted to make a left turn from the right lane onto a median crossover. Tadeusz saw the vehicle turn in front of his tractor trailer combination and swerved left in an attempt to avoid a collision. The front of Tadeusz's truck tractor impacted the drivers side of Murray-Griffith's vehicle. After impact, both vehicles went off the roadway going into the median where they came rest stuck together. It is unclear why Murray-Griffith was attempting to use the median crossover when there was an interchange in the immediate area.

Both drivers where wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
