CHEYENNE (KGWN) - Despite Wyoming's law against poaching, illegal activity still remains.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is currently investigating a case involving a Bull Elk in Medicine Bow National Forest. They suspect this illegal act was done by the same poacher who killed an animal last year.

Department representatives told us about the negative impact poaching has on the community.

Robin Kepple explains, "When a game animal like this is poached, it's stealing it from legal hunters and its stealing it from all the residents in Wyoming."

Illegal poaching in the state of Wyoming comes with serious consequences.

Game and Fish Department personnel are asking you to contact them immediately if you know of suspicious activity.
