Dinner and A Movie

Tonight we’ll watch the Academy Award-winning film “12 Years a Slave.” This film is based on a memoir by Solomon Northup, a black man who was born free in New York in the 1800s. The film details his kidnapping in Washington, DC and subsequent sale into slavery and his fight for freedom over a period of 12 years. Bring a covered dish to share for a potluck. Meet a skunk, uromastyx, hedgehog, fabulous snakes, a pot-bellied pig, or even a cousin to the komodo dragon! Zoo keeper, naturalist, nationally renowned animal trainer and educator Safari Sally will be at the library to entertain children of all ages and educate families on amazing animals!
