Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - United Blood Services is on a mission to collect at least 40 blood donations so that hospital patients can be released sooner.
Senior Donor Recruitment Representative, Don Frigon says currently, there is a shortage in blood within United Blood Service hospitals. It's forcing patients to wait even longer before they receive treatment.
"The main thing we can't stress enough is if people are eligible and healthy enough to donate, they really need to come in. Because hospital patients are relying on that blood in order for them to be healthy enough to get out of the hospital," said Frigon
Just one blood donation can help save 3 lives and should only take one hour of your time.
United Blood Services also says they do have critical need for O-negative blood. There will be more blood drives in the coming weeks.
