Bayard, NE (AP) - Three city workers have been arrested and charged in the theft and sale of scrap metal from the Nebraska Panhandle city of Bayard (behrd).

Scottsbluff radio station KNEB reports that court documents say Bayard streets superintendent Kevin Wurm told two of his workers to sell the metal and evenly divide the proceeds between the three of them. Authorities say three loads of scrap metal were sold earlier this month to a salvage yard in Minatare (mihn-uh-TEHR') for a total of nearly $940.

The 44-year-old Wurm is charged with felony theft. Twenty-nine-year-old Joshua Buskirk and 31-year-old Joshua Kinney are charged with felony aiding and abetting.

Online court records don't list attorneys for any of the three men.
