Omaha, NE (AP) - Another Democrat has entered the race to challenge incumbent Republican Congressman Lee Terry.
Douglas County landscaper Mark Aupperle (AH'-per-lay) says he filed paperwork with the Nebraska Secretary of State's office on Feb. 12.

Aupperle says he was prompted to run this year because "now is the time to save the federal government from destruction."

The 56-year-old Aupperle says the federal government is protecting the interests of big business at the expense of the average worker.

Aupperle has not yet raised any campaign money, but says money "is not going to win this campaign. This campaign is going to be about ideas."

Aupperle faces Omaha state Sen. Brad Ashford in the May 13 primary election. Terry faces a primary challenge from Omaha businessman Dan Frei.
