Loup City, NE (AP) - A man from central Nebraska has been sentenced to more than three years in federal prison for filing false tax returns.
Rodney R. Moraczewski, of Loup City, was given the sentence Thursday. It will be followed by three years of supervised release.
Moraczewski was accused of filing ten false tax returns in his name and the names of other people between 2009 and 2010. The IRS gave him nearly $300,000 as a result. That money must be paid back in restitution.
Moraczewski pleaded guilty in November to felony charges of filing a false federal tax return and identity theft.
