Lincoln, NE (AP) - A Nebraska attorney who was suspended last year for case neglect, failure to communicate with a client and misappropriation of funds has now been disbarred.

The Nebraska Supreme Court on Friday disbarred Grand Island attorney John Sellers, noting that Sellers voluntarily surrendered his Nebraska law license.

Sellers was suspended in January 2013 on one count of neglect, failure to communicate and misappropriation of funds. Later that year, the state's Counsel for Discipline filed formal charges containing four counts against Sellers, making identical claims.

Earlier this year, Sellers voluntarily surrendered his license, admitting he did not want to contest the charges.

He could not be reached for comment Friday.
