WNCC Mourns Student Death

Western Nebraska Community College (KGWN) - Friday, a student at Western Nebraska Community College, Amanda Baker, 24, died as a result of a brutal attack, allegedly by an inmate at the Scotts Bluff County Jail while she was working as a corrections officer.
"We are all deeply saddened and shocked by this loss. She will be greatly missed," reflected Dr. Todd R. Holcomb, WNCC president.

A crisis/grief counselor is on call all weekend to meet in private with any members of the College student body, faculty, and staff. Please call 308.635.6090 for assistance. Beginning Monday morning, those seeking counseling are invited to visit the Counseling Advising Vocational Exploration (CAVE) area in the main building on the Scottsbluff Campus.
