Cheyenne, WY (AP) - A variety of businesses in every county have applied to sell lottery tickets, but the top administrator of the Wyoming Lottery Corp. wants to see more before sales start later this summer.
Wyoming will officially enter the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpot frenzy on Aug. 24.
Wyoming Lottery CEO Jon Clontz says about 300 retailers have submitted applications to sell Powerball and Mega Millions tickets in the 15 days that the application process has been open.
Clontz says the types of businesses applying ranges from bars to hotels. There is no restriction on the types of business that can sell tickets.
Clontz says he'd like to see more businesses apply because the goal is to have about 450 places around the state where people can buy lottery tickets.
