Assault Leads to Manhunt in Cheyenne

CPD RELEASE A 25 year-old Cheyenne woman, who was being assaulted in a vehicle, was able to call out for help to a passing Cheyenne Police Officer at approximately 6:00 p.m. last Friday night. The incident started near Dell Range & Ridge Rd where the officer activated
emergency lights/siren to stop the vehicle but the male suspect driver pulled the female back into the vehicle and drove away attempting to elude officer who was then in pursuit. The male drove to an area near the 4600 Blk of Hilltop where he exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The female victim remained in the vehicle and was soon after transported to CRMC by ambulance. Her current condition is unknown.

Immediately, a large scale search for the male suspect was initiated by multiple Cheyenne Police Officers and K-9 units. The search included the canvassing the entire northeast area of the Buffalo
Ridge residential area. At approximately 7:50 p.m., the suspect was found hiding in a locked private garage in the 4700 Blk of Hickory Plc. The suspect, identified as 25 year-old Calvin Aubin Jr. of Cheyenne, was apprehended by Cheyenne Police K-9 “Capo.”

Aubin was taken initially to CRMC and soon after was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center. Aubin was booked into the jail on multiple charges to include Kidnapping, False Imprisonment, Burglary, Domestic Battery, Strangulation of a Household Member, and Eluding Law Enforcement. The case remains under investigation by Cheyenne Police.
