New teacher, Kallie Coonce says, "I've been through lots of training throughout the summer these last couple weeks."

From building new facilities to classroom preparation, faculty members tell us what they are most excited about this year.

Robin Inman, educator at Alta Vista Elementary says she wants to "make my kids want to come to school every day and learn. And I look forward to a productive year with the district and with my kids."

Members of the district say although it is progressing, they also plan to work on increasing the graduation rate.

LCSD1 Superintendent, John Lyttle weighs in on what he wants to tackle. "We're a little bit above national standards but that's not where we wanna be. So that'll be our focus this year."
