Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - UPDATE: The pedestrian who was hit on Lincolnway last night died from his injuries. The male, who's not yet been identified was transported to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center last night. He was later pronounced dead. Cheyenne Police say they will not release the name until next of kin has been notified.
A pedestrian was struck at east Lincoln Way and Crook Avenue tonight.
The accident occurred at about 8:00 Friday night, closing traffic on E. Lincoln way in both directions.
CBS News Channel 5 spoke with the man who was driving the car that hit the pedestrian, he said he was driving east bound when out of know where he saw a man in the middle of the street and he didn't have time to react.
The man shattered the wind shield and rolled over the top of the vehicle.
Another witness who was driving behind the vehicle that struck the pedestrian said she saw the man fly through the air.
He was later treated in the street and then loaded into an ambulance.
You can see here the clothing which was removed from him before he was taken to the hospital.
The witness also said that she was extremely impressed at the response time of the emergency responders.
