Commissioner Diane Humphrey not seeking reelection

Cheyenne, WY(KGWN) Laramie County Commission Chairman Diane Humphrey is not seeking another term on the commission.

Humphrey has been on the commission for more than 15 years. She said she's ready to spend more time with family, and doesn't want to be known as a "career politician."

She described her tenure as a "rewarding experience," and talked about how much she enjoyed the unique qualities of her job. Regarding the next seven and a half months on the commission, Humphrey said she's focused on the budget.

As for the future of the commission, Humphrey said she'd like to see the commission successfully relocate the county fair to the Archer complex. Once against the move, Humphrey said she could see how many people wanted to see the fair move, and hopes it can be done eventually.

Anyone looking to fill Humphrey's seat has to file between May 15th and May 30th.
