Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - Cheyenne Depot Days is off to a strong start, with more than 1,400 people visiting exhibits around town on Saturday. Organizers expected between 5,000 and 10,000 visitors for the weekend.

For ten dollars, visitors could see the UP Big Boy 4014 in the steam shop, or go to the Frontier Park exhibition hall to see model railroads and even shop for parts for personal models. Trolleys were available to shuttle visitors around on the rainy Saturday afternoon.

The Sherman Hill Model Rail Road show at Frontier Park brought out a lot of visitors, men and women of all ages.

Tim McMahon, a member of the Sherman Hill Model Rail Road Club said his favorite part of the day is engaging the public. "I really enjoy teaching the younger generations especially about this hobby," said McMahon. He said he was encouraged at the number of kids he saw at the model rail road show, but would like to see even more.
