Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - It was all about giving back Thursday, as Element Church gave away $12,000 in "Stop and Drops" throughout Cheyenne.

"I think it's wonderful," said Ivan Creel. "I think they're going to catch a lot of people by surprise."

Creel had driven by The Bread Basket many times, but never stopped until Thursday morning. What he didn't know was that his breakfast would be free.

"Most of them are stunned, they're like really," said Melissa Ryden, an employee at The Bread Basket. "We have them order what they want and make sure they don't need anything else and then we're just like well it's on the Element Church today and have a nice day."

The church "dropped" $1000 at various businesses so they could provide free food and coffee to their patrons.

"It's not often you come in and get a free breakfast by the church or anyone actually," said Creel.

"I think what they did is phenomenal and God bless them," said Anna Wolfe, a frequent patron of The Bread Basket.

To show their appreciation towards those who serve the public every day, Element church also sponsored free luncheons for Emergency Room staff at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, Cheyenne Police Department employees and the City of Cheyenne Parks and Recreation staff.
