Laramie River Expected to Rise Above Flood Stage

Cheyenne, WY (KGWN) - Residents along the Laramie River in Albany County are being urged to prepare for rising water.

In Laramie, the river is expected to climb above the moderate flood stage of 6.0 feet by late Saturday morning and continue to rise to 6.6 feet by early Sunday.

Near Bosler, the river is forecast to rise above flood stage by late Sunday morning and continue to rise to near 7.6 feet by Sunday at noon.

"We are watching specific areas within the city and county," said Aimee Binning, Albany County Emergency Management Coordinator. "If residents recognize that they have some water raising and possibly impacting their homes they should contact us. We can work with the local volunteer fire departments to get those residents sandbags if needed."
