CHEYENNE, WY – Have you ever looked around and seen all the different license plates around town and think to yourself, ‘how many people here in Wyoming are actually from Wyoming?’
We'll according to a new interactive map created by researchers with the New York Times, less than half your neighbors were born here.
As of 2012, 40% of people living in Wyoming were born in the Cowboy State. 4% were born outside the United States and immigrated here; the rest are from other states.
Although it may not seem like we have a lot of native Wyomingites, the maps researchers say 40% is actually the most it's ever been.
