Billings, MT (AP) - Federal officials say they've arrested a Wyoming man suspected in the theft of 559 pounds of explosives from a U.S. Forest Service bunker in south-central Montana.
Montana's Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Rod Ostermiller says marshals and members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives took 32-year-old Budd James Nesius of Wheatland, Wyo., into custody Monday in Grand Junction, Colo. The Billings Gazette reports he was arrested on a federal warrant for possession of stolen explosives.
Nesius was arrested at the courthouse, where he had a hearing on drug charges filed after his Dec. 20 arrest.
Officials discovered in April that the explosives were missing from a bunker near Red Lodge. The ATF announced in November that it had recovered all of the explosives, but did not provide further details.
