LANDER, Wyo. (AP) — Blayne Streeper is leading the Stage Stop Sled Dog Race through Wyoming after giving up the yellow bib for one stage.

Streeper of Fort Nelson, British Columbia was the first finisher in Wednesday's stage in Pinedale, closely followed by John Stewart of Salt Lake City.

They are about 28 minutes apart in the overall standings.

On Thursday, mushers and their dogs were racing in Big Piney. The temperature around the scheduled start time was only minus 10.

The race will end Saturday in Evanston after covering nearly 350 miles in Wyoming and Montana. The overall winner will take home $100,000.
