Sheridan, WY (AP) - Sheridan police say they arrested a woman on an outstanding warrant after she accidentally called 911 from her cellphone.
Sgt. Travis Koltiska tells The Sheridan Press that 42-year-old Robyn Kapperman accidentally called 911 on Wednesday, identified herself to police dispatchers and acknowledged her phone had dialed the emergency line accidentally. She also gave her location.
A quick background check revealed the warrant, and police were sent to the location to make the arrest. Kapperman had been issued a ticket for failing to show proof of vehicle insurance Sept. 1, and later missed her court date, which resulted in the warrant.
Koltiska says 911 hang-up calls are common, but each misdial is investigated to ensure the caller isn't in trouble.
