Arvada, CO (KGWN)- The Cheyenne Extreme softball team, lead by head coach Adam Galicia, used a 5-1 record at the USSSA Super Series Tourney for a 3rd place overall finish.
The tournament started with pool play, the Extreme finished 1st, going 3-0.
Game 1 was an 11-2 victory over Colorado Korruption
Game 2 was a 12-0 win over the Colorado Outlaws 12-0 and the final game of pool play was a 6-4 win over the Colorado Springs AquaSox(CC) 6-4.
Kodi Nelson provided the drama against the AquaSox. Cheyenne's third game of the tournament when Nelson, batting with two outs, hit a walk-off two-run home run.
Bracket play, started with another shutout victory, 9-0 over the Colorado CNSSBC 9-0.
In game 2, the Extreme defeated the Colorado Majestix 6-3.
The Extreme finally were defeated 5-0, in the semi-finals by the Fruita, CO Thundercats, the eventual tournament winner.
Extreme scored 44 runs, allowed 13.
