LARAMIE, Wyo. (Aug. 21, 2014) – Second year head coach Chad Callihan and the Wyoming Cowgirl Volleyball Team will conclude preseason drills with the Brown and Gold scrimmage, on Friday, Aug. 23.

The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. in the UniWyo Sports Complex. It is open to the public. The Cowgirls have been conducting practices alternating between one or two a day over the past two weeks.

Callihan welcomes back four starters and nine letterwinners to this year’s squad that finished 21-13 overall and 11-9 in the Mountain West a year ago. Wyoming was recently selected fifth in the Mountain West preseason poll and senior Erin Kirby was named to the preseason All-MW team. In all, the squad consists of two seniors, four juniors, four sophomores and seven redshirt freshmen and true freshmen.

The Cowgirls will open non-conference play next weekend on the road at the Montana Invite, on Friday, Aug. 29, against the Washington State Cougars. The first chance to see UW at home is on Friday, Sept. 5 as they host the UniWyo Cowgirl Classic with competition against Ball State, Montana and South Alabama.
