LCCC’s Edwin and Portley earn All-Region honors

Sophomore Deon Edwin earned first team All-Region, while returning sophomore All-American Deshon Portley earned a spot on the second team.

Edwin averaged 21.8 points per game which was second best in the region and 10th in the country. He led the Golden Eagles in rebounding pulling down 7.4 rebounds per game and was second in assists with 3 per game. He also scored 675 points, the most in a single season for the Golden Eagles.

Portley averaged 21.3 points per game, putting him third in the region and 15th in the country. He led the Golden Eagles in three-point shots made per game (3.1) and free throw percentage (84 percent). Portley was also strong on the defensive end, leading the Golden Eagles with 2.5 steals per game. Portley is also the all-time leading scorer for the Golden Eagles with 1,221 points during his two seasons.
