Post 6 finally back in town

"We're just happy to be home. We're still kinda tired and groggy from that trip. I think when our kids come out and see all these Cheyenne kids, It gets them excited about the game and what we're doing."

That is Post 6 Manager Tagg lain talking about finally being back in Cheyenne after a lengthy road trip for his team.

They were welcomed back by around 250 kids waiting to learn from the team.

Post 6 held their annual kids clinic at Powers field Tuesday morning.

Kids ranging from 5 to 12 years old got to learn from all of the Post 6 teams from varsity down to the prep team.

They went through drills to learn how to run to first the correct way, how to field a grounder or pop fly and how to hit and be patient when at the plate.

The kids also stuck around to get autographs from their favorite players or coaches...

Post 6 was amazed at the turnout.

"It is really good for our kids. It's good for them to be able to communicate and get out of their own shell a little bit and realize how much they do know and are able to give back. It's been a process now long enough, we have had some of our kids who have been campers, now they have been involved in it helping out the new guys and the young guys. It's a lotta fun." said Lain

The team was back in action at Powers Tuesday night. All the kids from the clinic got in free so it was a packed house.

Unfortunately, they did not get to see a Post 6 victory. The Sixers fell to the Davey Jones Cardinals 7-1.
