LARAMIE, Wyo. (March 28, 2014) – University of Wyoming men’s basketball coach Larry Shyatt announced Friday that redshirt junior guard Charles Hankerson Jr. has been fully reinstated to the team effective immediately. Hankerson played in 27 games during the 2013-14 season, before being suspended indefinitely from the squad on Feb. 24. Hankerson averaged 5.1 points and 1.3 rebounds, while shooting 43 percent from the field and 40 percent beyond the arc.

“I would like to apologize for my actions leading to my suspension,” Hankerson said. “After visiting with coach Shyatt and the staff, as well as our athletic administration, I have agreed to financially provide for my education here at Wyoming starting in the fall. This will enable me to prove to myself, my mother and father and our university family that I can do the right things necessary to be a productive member of our basketball team and graduate from the University of Wyoming.”

Shyatt also announced that sophomore forward Austin Haldorson plans to transfer and will not return to the team next season. Shyatt said the Wyoming coaching staff and players would have no further comment.
