UW Scouting Report: EMU Eagles

By  |

CHEYENNE, Wyo. The Cowboys prepare for Friday night MAC-tion against Eastern Michigan (3-1) as they travel to Ypsilanti for a rematch against the Eagles.

Last year EMU crushed Wyoming 48-29 in Laramie. Quarterback Josh Allen would get his first-ever start in the game before breaking his collarbone in the first quarter. Now health, Allen and the Pokes will face an EMU defense ranked 91st in the nation in points allowed.

On offense, the Eagles start Junior College transfer Todd Porter, who's thrown for 743 yards and six touchdowns through three games this season. The Eagles also have a bevy of wide receivers at their disposal. Five different wide-outs have caught touchdowns this season, three of which have tallied over 100 yards of receiving early in the year.

The Cowboys already thin secondary will have to lock up the Eagles offense, while the offense will have to produce points early and often Friday night.
