Carlie McGuire joined the KGWN news team in August of 2013. She packed her car and drove all the way from Alexandria, Virginia where she was born and raised. Five days later she arrived in Cheyenne, where she was greeted with a hail storm! Despite the bumpy introduction, Carlie's enjoying her time in Cheyenne, meeting the people and taking in the beautiful scenery.
Carlie graduated from the University of Missouri in 2013, go Tigers! Mizzou was Carlie's first and only choice school, she always knew she wanted to study broadcast journalism, and Mizzou has the best J-school in the country. During her junior year, Carlie studied abroad in London and interned with the NBC News bureau there. Her favorite part of the internship was working the red carpet at the British Academy Film Awards and interviewing stars like George Clooney and Daniel Radcliffe.
Before joining KGWN, Carlie was a general assignment reporter and anchor at the NBC affiliate KOMU-8 News in Columbia, Missouri. She also spent the summer of 2012 interning at NBC4 in Washington D.C..
When she's not hauling a camera and tripod around Cheyenne, Carlie likes to get out and explore the area, and when its get cold, she has a long Netflix queue she can't wait to make a dent in. She also loves spending time with family and friends and can't wait to play tour guide when they come and visit!
