Onufer Leads The Way For Wyoming Wrestling In Cowboy Open

"We have to learn to wrestle with pressure so in a tournament setting I hope we can open up a little bit more and we're a little more aggressive." In his first year as Wyoming wrestling coach, Mark Branch challenges his team right after Friday's victory over Stanford. The 36th Cowboy Open attracting over 450 wrestlers and 20 schools to Laramie. Lets get to some take downs! Wyoming has a bunch of solid redshirt freshmen including Michael Martinez who registers pins not once but twice to win his first two matches. He also wins his third on a 9-3 decision and finishes in 2nd place in the elite 125 weight class. Chase Smith also chased down a pair of victories and Cole Dallaserra wins his first four matches in his first Cowboy Open. "This is my 3rd year here and in the past 2 years I was injured for this tournament and this tourney right here in our house so I'm just excited to be out here competing in this atmosphere today," said Dallaserra, who finshed 2nd in the elite 141 division.
