Chris attended the University of Northern Colorado where he pursued a degree in meteorology. He received his degree in may of 2008. Shortly after he graduated, he joined a storm chasing team where they conducted research on tornadoes. Chris began his career at KGWN in August of 2008 as the Morning Meteorologist and took the roll as Chief Meteorologist in September of 2009. Chris was awarded the CBM Certification from the American Meteorological Society in 2011. Chris won 1st Place for "Weather Person of the Year" from the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters in June 2010, June 2011 and again in June of 2012.
Chris has been married to his wonderful wife Krista since 2008. In January of 2011, Krista gave birth to their daughter, Kaelyn. Chris enjoys spending time with his family along with playing and watching sports. His favorite football team is the Denver Broncos and his favorite baseball team is the Colorado Rockies. Not only does Chris like sports, he likes to sing. In fact, Chris is the lead singer of rock band that goes by the name Shaving Peggy. His band plays danceable rock music and can be seen in Cheyenne and Northern Colorado.
He enjoys a good challenge, so living and working in an area where weather can be extremely difficult to predict makes him feel challenged and intrigued. You can catch Chris and his forecast during the 5:30 PM and 10:00 PM newscast Monday through Friday.
