Travis Knudsen is a 2011 graduate from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Meteorology.
Travis joined the KGWN weather team in January 2011 when he applied for an internship in the Storm Tracker 5 Weather Center and was offered the weekend meteorologist position.
In addition to working at KGWN, he also works at DayWeather, Inc. a local business in Cheyenne that forecasts for and produces the weather section of newspapers—including Cheyenne's Tribeagle—as well as broadcasting weather spots for multiple radio stations nationwide. During the workweek Travis forecasts and assembles weather pages for newspapers, and on the weekends he broadcasts for radio, a few of which are local Cheyenne radio stations.
Born and raised in Colorado, Travis loves the Front Range and is very pleased to work in Cheyenne while remaining close to home.
Travis also loves snowstorms! The excitement and anticipation in before a major snowfall is what first sparked Travis' interest in weather. His favorite thing to forecast is snowfall on the lee side of a mountain rage in the winter.
During his free time Travis enjoys reading. Being a Star Wars geek at heart, his favorite books to read are expanded-universe Star Wars novels.
Travis is excited to work with the KGWN team and hopes to get to know the Cheyenne and tri-state community.
