Chugwater residents are seeing smoke to the west as firefighters continue attacking a new rapidly spreading wildfire in east-central Albany County.
According to Scott Davis the Albany County Fire Warden, as of about 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, the lightning caused fire was at 0% containment and had covered nearly a square mile of BLM and private land.
Helicopters and tankers have been ordered to help suppress the fire in Albany County.
A red flag warning has been posted for most of Wyoming.
State Forester Bill Crapser says windy, dry weather conditions Wednesday and Thursday will only help wildfires grow.
