Taking that next step in education into a four-year college is one of the most important decisions a student will make.
The Wyoming Admissions Officers is an organization that is promoting higher education throughout the state by having college fairs to promote their cause and make it easier for students to find the right place for them to continue their education.
30 institutions of higher learning were at LCCC on Wednesday to show the students what's out there to help them pursue their careers.
"Whether it be an opportunity to attend a private school, a small liberal arts school, a large research university an intermediate sized institution such as the University of Wyoming. It really just helps them open up their universe of opportunities and options," Rob Dennis said.
It's an opportunity for students to get to talk to representatives from different colleges in person and ask them question rather than just reading about them on the internet.
"We're trying to help students that look, I want to continue that degree, here's a great opportunity to come and talk to colleges and get information about continuing that and finishing that bachelor's degree," Josh Nighswonger said.
One person who works in admissions said the best advice they have for choosing the right school is start researching early, keep your grades up and visit the campus of any school you are serious about.
Students who attended all found different aspects of the fair to be very helpful in their search.
"It's easier to talk with them. Ask what they need. Ask what requirement that I have to do so I can transfer into the school. I think it's really helpful," T. Nguyen said.
"It was actually very helpful. Especially learning about scholarships and different programs and different things that different schools offer. It was helpful learning about the financial part of it," Christian Ramos said.
For high school juniors and seniors in Laramie County there will be another college fair at the East High School gymnasium Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and parents are also welcome to attend.
