Long shot presidential candidate Randall Terry was in Cheyenne Tuesday as part of his 5,000 mile tour around the country.
Randall Terry is a lifelong Republican who joined the Presidential race a year ago running as a Democrat.
Terry wants to run against President Obama and plans to do so by attacking him on one specific policy.
In 2008, more than 1.2 million abortions were performed in the United States according to the Guttmacher Institute.
Randall Terry believes the issue of abortion should take precedent over all other issues.
"It's our number one political issue. Ahead of the economy, ahead of the wars," Terry said.
Terry has made national news recently because he plans to run some very graphic political ads that will include images of dead babies in some parts of the country during the Super Bowl.
"Our goal is to make it illegal to use any chemical abortive agent. Plan B, Depo-Provera, The Patch, Morning After Pill. They've all got to become criminalized because they're human pesticides," Terry said.
Terry plans to challenge Obama in about 20 primaries and will be on the general election ballot in swing states, Colorado, Ohio, Florida and Virginia.
"If I prevail in our plan. History will record that my campaign denied him the White House," Terry said.
Terry realizes he's not going to defeat Obama. He is targeting Christians who voted for Obama last election to take votes away in hopes that someone else will win the election.
"If I can cause six or seven percent of the people who voted for Obama in 2008 who are Catholics and Evangelicals to say I won't vote for him '12 then my campaign will be the reason for Obama's defeat," Terry said.
As most would imagine Terry's message has been very polarizing. The responses to his upcoming Super Bowl ad has been either love or hate, he says nobody is in between.
Randall Terry also announced that he will be opening up a campaign headquarters in Cheyenne that will lead by campaign manager Barry Meyer.
