Cheyenne's first charter school will be opening this fall. Ricardo Flores Magon Academy will be enrolling 120 students k-2nd grade, and will be adding a grade every year until they reach 8th grade. The school day is a bit longer than most, starting at 8:30 a.m. and running until 5 p.m. They say the longer day means more time for students to work with their teachers to excel.
It's a tuition free public charter school, but kids are required to wear uniforms.
The school was approved by the district in September. For more watch Robert Geha's interview with Marcos Martinez, the head of Magon Academy.
