This Saturday when East meets Central on the hardwood at Storey Gym it will be a black-out. The athletes on both sides of the court will be wearing black t-shirts before the game to raise awareness on the issue of bullying.
East H. S. Athletic Director Jerry Schlabs said, "They look up to these high school kids so to see our athletes out there who are positive role models, leaders in our school and see them wearing the t-shirts that say be nice and talking about treating people well with respect and dignity it's a pretty positive thing for us."
" Sportsmanship can also play a roll in the being respectful aspect of it and it's a great message and what better way to promote it then during a very competitive rivalry week during the basketball game is just perfect" said Senior Kyler Robinson.
Both East and Central will give out 200 hundred t-shirts to the student body at the game and are encouraging all the fans to wear black.
