The fate of two pit bulls that killed a pony over the weekend, could be in the hands of the court. The dogs, both female, are being held at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
The previous owners have been issued citations and have a court date set and apparently have retained a lawyer.
Shelter Director Rick Collord says the owners were also notified that the Animal Shelter had the pit bulls, but did not come forward and claim them within 48 hours.
By law the dogs have now become property of the Animal Shelter.
