
The Plains Hotel traded guests for the gridiron Thursday night as it hosted the Cheyenne Quarterback Club's Senior Ring banquet for the University of Wyoming football team.
Governor Matt Mead was in the building to present the rings to the five seniors who were able to attend. He thanked them for their loyalty and sacrifice during their time playing for the cowboy football team.
Cheyenne QB Club Board Member Andy Miller said, "We've been doing the rings for 15 plus years it means a lot it's really something those kids can keep for their lives and remember the University of Wyoming from and we're proud to present those rings every year."
Also presented was the Larry Birleffi award for Most Outstanding Player, that honor went to Senior Linebacker Brian Hendricks, he said, "It's been such an honor to play for such a wonderful team and such a wonderful state. Without your support this wouldn't be as special. Not many states have the love and pride like this and just to be successful to get back to a winning season get back to a bowl game it's been a true honor."
