Week One of Legislature Comes to an End

Friday wrapped up the last day for bills to be introduced in the legislature.

Going into the day 164 house bills had been introduced, 37 were introduced Friday and 43 failed introduction.

Next week committees will be working bills.

Thursday, the 23rd is the last day for bills to move out of committees and to the floor in the house of origin.

Representative Hans Hunt says much of the heavy lifting will begin next week.

"I would say that some of the big things coming down the pipes are probably going to be the wolf issue. Seeing as how we killed off some of the major issues concerning education and then of course there's going to be the budget. We'll start in on that," Hunt said.
