A 12-year-old girl was taken to CRMC after being hit by a vehicle near Baggs Elementary School early Wednesday morning.
According to Dan Long, PIO for the Cheyenne Police Department, the incident happened in the 3700 block of E. Pershing. The condition of the child is not known at this time.
Police responded to the incident around 7:50 a.m. Wednesday morning. Witnesses say they saw a white male, around 40-years-old driving a 1990's model black Dodge Dakota extended cab truck, hit the girl while she was crossing the street. He then left the scene.
The male is described as approximately 5'8" tall, slim build, salt and pepper hair, goatee, and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt with a blue hooded sweatshirt. The truck is a 1990's black Dodge Dakota extended cab and may have front end damage on the passenger side.
