SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (AP) _ New charges have been filed against a Scottsbluff couple in the abuse of their 6-year-old son.
Carlos and Jennifer Herrera are charged with child abuse resulting in serious injury. They were initially charged last year with hindering and obstructing a police officer. The case had been pending trial when Scotts Bluffs County prosecutors dismissed it last month. New charges were filed last week.
The Herreras are accused of endangering their son by not providing necessary food, clothing and shelter until he was removed from their home in October 2011.
