Two of the biggest shopping days of the year are Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but between those days is Small Business Saturday.
Over the next two weeks we will feature some of Cheyenne's small businesses, encouraging you to shop local on November 24.
Whether it be on your mantle or in your dresser drawer, many in Cheyenne probably own something from this local store.
Wyoming Trophy & Engraving has been in business for 34 years, doing everything from plaques for CFD, to embroidery as well as Channel 5's own Golden Apple Award.
Owner Terry Lahiff thinks there's a few reasons his small business has had success.
"We always consider our customer. We try to be fair, keep our prices reasonable for our area," Lahiff said.
Lahiff says his company found their niche by offering services nobody else does.
"We're probably the only one in the state that does everything that we do and there's very few in Colorado that do what we do so we've offered a lot to the general public," Lahiff said.
Part of being a good small business owner is buying local. Lahiff says it's something he likes to do whenever he needs supplies.
"When you shop in Cheyenne, that money stays in Cheyenne. Every dollar you spend with us, actually goes out and turns seven times in the community," Lahiff said.
Cheyenne's small businesses supporting each other is what helps everyone succeed.
