Laramie, Wyo. (Nov. 12, 2012) -- The MAACO Bowl Las Vegas announced its four candidates for the Mountain West Player of the Week Award on Monday, and Wyoming quarterback Brett Smith is among the nominees.
This is the third time this season that Smith has been a candidate for the award. He won the honor on Sept. 12 for his performance vs. Toledo, and was also one of four candidates the week following his performance against Idaho.
All voting is done by fans through the official MAACO Bowl Las Vegas Facebook page at: http://www.facebook.com/lvbowl
Voting will remain open until 1 p.m., Mountain Time on Wednesday, Nov. 14.
This week's four candidates for the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas Mountain West Player of the Week are:
Brett Smith, Wyoming QB
Donnell Alexander, Colorado State RB
Travis Brown, Fresno State, LB
Robbie Rouse, Fresno State, RB
In addition to Smith being honored by the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas for his performance versus Toledo earlier this season, Wyoming junior wide receiver Robert Herron earned the honor as the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas Mountain West Player of the Week for his outstanding performance at Texas in the 2012 season opener.
