If you have bags of leaves waiting to be taken away, the wait is almost over. This Saturday, the city of Cheyenne sanitation department will be picking up bags of leaves to be taken to their composting facility.
Trucks will be out starting at 6 am and bags need to be placed at the curb. Cub scouts and boy scouts will be at the facility to tear the bags open and separate the leaves so the plastic doesn't get mixed in with the compost. According to Solid Waste Director Dennis Pino, having the scouts help is a win win for everyone. Drivers can spend more time picking up the bags and the scouts receive community service hours for their work.
If you have bags that aren't picked up on Saturday, the city will be sending out a few trucks on Monday to finish the job.
