Small Business Series: PerrBear Chocolates

Everyone knows the day after Thanksgiving is Black Friday, but you may want to save some money for the day after.

It's Small Business Saturday a day that encourages everyone to shop local in their community.

At PerrBear Chocolates, visitors are quite literally like kids in a candy store.

"The customers at a candy store are a lot of fun and it's a and it's a lot of fun making candy, sampling it, giving samples out to the customers," said Perry Martin.

Perry and his wife Lori opened up PerrBear three years ago. He says their success has not been easy because you have make sure you budget every penny.

"Being a small business is very difficult from an economic standpoint, but the customers you have are very supportive and in a community like Cheyenne our customers are fabulous," Martin said.

They hope people decide to shop small on Saturday because it's small businesses like theirs that help the local economy.

"We have no corporate owner that takes money out of the state, out of the community. Everything stays right here, so it's very important to shop with the small businesses," Martin said.

As long as people keep supporting local businesses, they'll be able to keep doing what they love most.

"It's the happiness that the customers have. How we can serve the customers. I serve their needs. That's the best thing about it," Martin said.
