The beginning to the Christmas shopping season has arrived with the unofficial holiday known as Black Friday.
It began Thanksgiving night.
"There's just lots of people here," said Seth, a Black Friday shoppers.
Lines. Hundreds of people deep, wrapping around buildings.
"I like coming Thursday just because I'm not in a food coma and I don't want to be in line at two in the morning," said Amber, a Black Friday shopper.
All of them hoping to get a jump on their holiday shopping. Taking advantage of the first available Black Friday deals.
"We want to get a PS3 that's going on plenty cheap so we're going to hopefully run in there and get those items," said Taylor, a Black Friday shopper.
"Just to come get an XBox," Seth said.
"I'm pretty sure, I think Halo 4 is one of them for my family as one and then another one would have to be fancy headphones for my cousin," said Kendall, a Black Friday shopper.
"I'm standing in line to get a 3DS for my son," Amber said.
But are the prices really worth standing for hours in these long lines?
"I definitely think so for certain items, especially electronics," Taylor said.
"Some of them are, but I think it depends on what you really want," Amber said.
Far fewer shoppers decided to bear the frigid temperatures Friday morning, waking up early to head to Frontier Mall.
"We got up at 2:30," said Tristan Tyrrell.
Most were lined up at Sports Authority, hoping to score big with a scratch off gift card.
"The first 80 or so people in line get somewhere between $10 and $500 dollars," said Geoffrey Carr.
Those that showed up at the mall didn't come for a specific item, they were just hoping to find a good deal.
"I don't know we'll just see what's on sale," said Tyson Smith.
"Just to get good discounted prices. Do some shopping for the holidays," said Heidi Pforr.
While most won't get the $500 gift card they're hoping for, those that came out say it's still fun to wake up early to shop once a year.
"It's been a lot of fun. Even just for the sake of coming out at four in the morning once a year is kind of fun," Carr said.
